Build your own Pool Cue
|
A wonderful project for the experienced wood worker, do-it-yourself sort of person or someone who just wants a taste of cue building. We will provide everything you need to complete your cue including detailed step-by-step instructions. You will need access to a lathe to properly complete the cue. A metal lathe is preferable but cues have been built with very little machinery.
We will provide the butt that is complete with ringwork on both sides of the butt sleeve and above the joint. The ringwork behind the joint collar goes on after the joint screw is installed. The butt is professionally built, solidly constructed and still oversized so you determine the final dimensions. The butt has been turned at least twice, treated with a wood stabilizer and hung for several months. It is straight.
You choose the joint (pin) screw. A 5/16-18, 5/16-14 or 3/8-10 are standard. Other joint pins are optional. You also choose from several different styles of Irish linen for the wrap.
You choose the number and type of shafts. One 13.25mm RAVEN tapered hard rock maple is standard. It should be sanded to the desired size. It comes with the appropriate ringwork, brass insert (if there is one) fiber ferrule and Le Pro tip. We won’t install anything else unless you ask us to.
