| A wonderful project for the experienced wood worker, do-it-yourself sort of person or someone who just wants a taste of cue building. We will provide everything you need to complete the cue including detailed step-by-step instructions. You will need access to a lathe to properly complete the cue. A metal lathe is preferable but very fine cues have been built with very little machinery. This cue is one example of the type of unfinished cue available. The forearm and the butt sleeve are Central American cocobolo. The butt cap is natural linen. Natural linen is a lighter color after it is freshly cut or sanded. It will darken with age. The ringwork consists of a white trim ring, a thinner red trim ring, an ebony ring with 24 maple stitches in it, followed by another red trim ring and finally the last white ring. The ring work for the butt side of the joint, joint pin (with brass insert if required) and the joint collar will be provided. The ringwork and joint collar on the shaft will be installed unless you prefer it is not. The intended joint collars are natural linen but they could be another material. You choose the joint (pin) screw. A 5/16-18, 5/16-14 or 3/8-10 are standard. Other joint pins are optional. You choose the number and type of shafts you want. One 13.25mm RAVEN tapered hard rock maple shaft is standard. The shaft is normally sanded to its final size. It comes with the appropriate ringwork, brass insert (if there is one) fiber ferrule and Le Pro, Triangle or Elkmaster tip. I won’t install anything else unless you ask me to. The handle (wrap area) is made from laminated maple to add additional warp prevention. Obviously we can’t warrantee the cue that is completed by someone else but the assembled butt and all the components are covered by our satisfaction guarantee.
